Construction goals
This rammed earth structure is the first of its kind in Yamhill County, making it a truly unique structure in Oregon wine country. Collaboration between craftspeople, engineer, & architect was key in creating the process that, layer by layer, erected the beautiful rammed earth walls. The Corten roof effortlessly floats above the rammed earth walls, supported by steel V-braces and beams, while the floor-to-ceiling glass immerses visitors in the vineyard surroundings.
Every detail throughout construction was integral to the success of this space, there is no place for imperfection to hide. Precision and alignment of the interior space coexist with the organic layers of the rammed earth. The thoughtful placement of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components are all hidden from view, further showcasing the attention to detail. Pride of craft is apparent in every inch of this one-of-a-kind tasting room.
